Hmm
So, it's hot. I'm being lazy. Trying to hit a minimum step per day via fitbit but I fell off the insanity wagon. Too freaking hot, lots of energy though, eating well, doing LOTS, still feeling not as strong as before, but I'm still going, I reluctantly measured today and I'm down another inch. Weird.

caught up to the wagon
Due to a series of un-foreskin-ate events, big events, crappy-tastical events (that shall not be named, but have nothing to do with foreskin ) I fell off the wagon on Friday.
The purpose of this venture was to finally put myself in my highest regard, starting every morning, with nothing other than my water and my fitbit in hand I have done it. For 120 days I was hell bent. Then on Friday I hit some crap news that diverted my attention and focus and decided to have a "rest" day. I still did my 10,000 step goal with my fitbit but I didn't do a workout, not a physical one anyways, sure did a few emotional ones, then on saturday, same thing, sunday, another rest day, all still getting in that 10,000 step minimum but that's not what this is about, I don't want to JUST do my minimum, and I feel like crap for it.
Today I'm back at it, I've completed my 121st day (it SHOULD be day 123) but nope, I flubbed, and I need my focus to be on point. Within the three days that it took me to arse up my streak, I already feel like shit, I feel like my clothes are tighter (may be in my head but probably not) I feel like I look like a bag of dicks, my motivation to do more was lost, I'm SURE my thighs slapped together louder this morning, sort of my subconscious giving me a very sarcastic slow clap.
Anyways, I'm back on it.
* BREAKING NEWS!!!*
With all this self loathing self defeated craptastic behaviour I managed a freaking record! I quite literally just went to see my stats on the fitbit page and I AM IN FIRST PLACE IN ALL RANKS! I was averaging 5th out of 8 possible places, last week I got third in one, second on another, but this week, across the board I'm first. If that's not motivation I don't know what is! My steps are still minimal as far as my average but seriously, SERIOUSLY I feel like I needed that, go me! This week is not going down the pooper shooter, I'ma beat my own records.
(blurred the other people, believe me, they're real people, I just don't want to be a gloaty gloaterson, unless I'm gloating to Miranda, then I'm going to gloat all I can possibly gloat)

I beat Miranda.
Miranda wanted to race via fitbit today. I destroyed her with 17726 vs her 11818
My legs hurt. Now I am supposed to beat that tomorrow??! As per if!!!
Oh, and this is the latest progress pic. Idk if there's that big a difference. I'm busting my ass!

I think I buggered up
Pretty sure I did the same workout two days in a row, thus being double the cardio I HAD to do. Totally weak but that explains the fetal position I was in at the end.

Tool, I'm a tool.
Someone mentioned to me that I should write a review on one of the tools I got for starting this venture of re-claimed health, or rather, the journey there, so consider this the first review on this blog.
I review everything, so I'm not sure why the thought to review the fitbit didn't cross my mind, I have been super pumped about it since before I even got it, yes, pumped, damn it, I have unknowingly adopted my friend Amanda's lingo, anyways, I have convinced six separate people to get one since I got mine in March and ALL of them are stoked on it, it's seriously awesome.
Ok, so I guess I should explain what it is, if you've not ventured off into fitbit world already and found out for yourself. The way I describe it, is it's a 3D activity monitor, yeah, it looks and acts as a pedometer, which is yawn worthy, but it's WAY more than that, yes it counts your steps, but it also calculates your caloric burn, if you've taken stairs and how many, how many floors you've climbed, and it has this flower that grows and gets more leaves on the stem, the higher your activity level, the bigger the flower! It's like a daily personal video game. It calculates your daily average and adjusts your flower and output based on your overall averages. It also wirelessly syncs with your computer which sends your data to your iphone or android to the fitbit app, or in my case, the myfitnesspal app, so it'll automatically adjust my daily exercise and tells me how many calories are burned, and how many I can consume. It's seriously awesome.
I was worried that the novelty would ware off and it would be one of those things I stopped using, but I got mine in march and I have and continue to use it EVERY DAY. It seems to give a better and more accurate caloric burn than the user imported data from myfitnesspal. My BIGGEST annoyance with myfitnesspal is the user imported data, I often see "soandso burned 456 calories doing 35 minutes of lawn bowling" and I just sigh; in my opinion, if you're burning that many calories lawn bowling, you'd first have to start out WEIGHING 456lbs and carrying about 100lbs of weights in that length of time. So, based on my weight/height/age and activity level, fitbit gives me a pretty healthy reading, and that's one more thing I don't have to log manually on a regular basis.
Another amazeballs feature is the sleep log. My son isn't known for his amazing nights of slumber, so if you wear the fitbit at night it actually calculates how long you slept, how long it took you to sleep, and when you were in a deep sleep, moreover how restful your sleep is. The added bonus is it let me know how often I was up with my son, so that was kind of cool. And if you want to get a certain number of hours of sleep, it'll tell you when to go to bed based on your previous nights, in order to get those hours restfully.
Overall I love it, I had a few times where the sync wasn't working, but I realized later that they were doing improvements, without doing anything, it remedied itself and all was right in the world.
So it's this cute little pink or blue and black clippy thing, you can wear it on your belt with the included belt clip accessory which I have never used, or if you have boobs, which I am quickly losing, you can clip it to your bra, the fitbit itself is a clip, so it just snaps on there and you forget about it until you reach down your shirt to show people what lies beneath....and to check on your cute little (or big) flower of course.
So if you want to try it, (99$) and you should, use my referral code, keeping in mind that the referral code came AFTER my purchase and in no way has motivated me to write this review. If you don't believe me, just do a fitbit search on youtube and you'll see that it's widely adored, and it's only $99, no monthly fees like bodybugg or some of the other ones, seriously, I love it so much I sleep with it every night. Customer service has been absolutely amazing, they sent me an extra base station and I could hug them for it.
Click here if I've already convinced you to get one, shipping in the US is overnight I think, shipping in Canada was six days, which was pretty good considering.
Oh, and you can get it to give you a name, mine calls me Dipshit. If you haven't moved for a while, it'll flash little messages at you like "get moving Dipshit" or "you rock Dipshit!"
